In today’s society, globalization is a blessing and a course at the same time. To some, globalization is a good thing because it brings culture into our lives. But to others, It could be a bad thing due to outsourcing of jobs and job opportunities. I don’t know how many times I have called an information line and on the other end was a outsourced job. You can always tell only by the way that person talks. You can only understand every other word that they speak. But, if your needing help at early hours in the morning. To them our early morning is their afternoon.

To me gloablalization is unstoppable… American culture has always been to explore, control and benefit from every other economy. In a way, looking out for their own self interest. A good example of this is to look at favorite cartoon Mickey mouse. Disney has been hiring laborers to make their products in other countries for a fraction what it would cost to hire in the states. Candy is another thing that was effected by globalization. Not many candy makers are stationed in America because that taxes placed on importing sugarcane. Larger corporations moved their factories out of the states to “help the world.” Only to hurt our own economy, and weaken our American heritage. Come on, look at everything that we sell in the states. It always says made in… anywhere but the United states.
One tool that has made globalization spread so fast was the creation of the internet. Thomas Friedman, author of the world is flat said that one of the forces that flattened the world was when Netscape. An internet browser which decided to go public created the culture of web browsing for the general public. This paradigm shift that America is going threw will change the world and since “Netscape went public on August 9, 1995, and the world had not been the same since!” (Friedman, 56).
We have gone through many paradigm shifts in the past. The current one we are in right now is the creation of the internet. As Thomas Friedman pointed out in his book, The World is Flat, one of the forces that flattened the world was when Netscape, the internet browser, decided to go public. By going public, it created the culture of web browsing for the general public. “Netscape went public on August 9, 1995, and the world had not been the same since!” (56).

Prior to internet being introduced to the world. The automobile and the train would have been the next largest paradigm shifts our world has experienced. The creation of a personnel carrier which allowed people to travel large distances in a short amount of time was astonishing. Which meant, that it was not uncommon before vehicles you worked in close proximity to where you were born. Since then, people have been going everywhere. The world is a dynamic place and is constantly changing. Even though most jobs have been outsourced and factories have left the states because taxation on imported goods. Either change or adapt, because if you don’t will be left behind.
